• Contact data: your email address, phone number, and city or location.
• Donation data: transaction reference numbers, donation amounts, donation frequency, and the cause you supported. We do not store or process your Mobile Money credentials directly; payments are handled by Fapshi.
• Volunteer application data: skills, availability, programs of interest, and motivation, as submitted through our volunteer application form.
• Usage analytics: non-personally-identifiable data such as page views, referral sources, and device type, used to improve the performance and usability of our website.

2. How We Use Your Information

BEGARH uses the personal information you provide to:

• Process and confirm your donations and send transaction receipts to your email address.
• Review and respond to volunteer applications and coordinate volunteer engagement.
• Respond to contact form submissions and general inquiries within 2–3 business days.
• Send impact updates, newsletters, and donor communications where you have opted in or become a recurring supporter.
• Improve our programs, outreach, and website experience through aggregated usage analytics.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations and maintain accurate organizational records.

3. Data Sharing

BEGARH does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

• Fapshi: our payment processor receives the minimum information required to initiate and confirm Mobile Money transactions (name and phone number). Fapshi operates under its own privacy policy.
• Sanity CMS: donor, volunteer, and content data is stored in our Sanity content management system, accessed only by authorized BEGARH staff and administrators.
• Resend: our transactional email provider is used to deliver confirmation emails. It receives your email address and the content of the email only.
• Legal compliance: we may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal processes.

4. Data Security

BEGARH implements industry-standard security practices to protect your personal information. All data transmissions between your browser and our servers are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Sensitive API credentials and environment variables are never exposed to client-side code. Access to stored personal data is restricted to authorized BEGARH staff only. While we take all reasonable precautions, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we encourage you to contact us immediately if you believe your information has been compromised.
